You’re invited!10th Anniversary Tea Party

The other day, I was looking at my calendar and I realized, “Holy snapdragons! My 10 year business anniversary is coming up soon!” A whole decade! Daaamn.

The official date is April 7th, 2017. Right around the corner. I’m going to be in NYC on that date, so I’ve decided to throw a fabulous party at The Pembroke Room at The Lowell. But not just any party. A HIGH TEA party! Tiny sandwiches. Scones. Cream. Jam. Chocolate tarts. Champagne. The whole nine yards. Hooray! {details are down below}

Hot tea has always been a symbol of love, optimism, and ambition for me. My grandmother taught me how to make a proper cup of tea when I was 5 years old. We would make tea, dunk our toast in it, and watch The Young and the Restless together. Those are some of my happiest memories with her.

Grandma always told me, “Get your education” and “No matter what, do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Even though she only had a 5th grade education, at most, she always wanted a bigger life for me. A life with unlimited opportunities.

Grandma is no longer with us, but I know she’s watching over me daily, and I know she’s so proud of the career that I’ve built. And her tea obsession lives on. About 7 times a day, I run into my kitchen and fire up the kettle, get out my favorite Fortnum & Mason tea and some lavender honey, and take a moment to think. Some of my best ideas come to me during those little tea breaks.

I can’t think of any better way to celebrate 10 years of entrepreneurship than with a beautiful, lavish, over-the-top tea party in NYC, the greatest city in the world!

I hope to see you in NYC this April! Feel free to wear your fanciest high tea finery. I am talking dresses, jewels, tiny hats, veils, gloves, tuxedos, and top hats… do it UP. It’s going to be so memorable and ridiculously fun!

Even if you can’t make it to this party, even if we’ve never met, even if we’ve never worked together, the simple fact that you read emails like this one means SO much to me. Thank you for being part of my business community. Ten years strong! And people, the action is just getting started. And with that… I’m going to wrap up this email before I start crying all over my keyboard. Also, it’s time for a tea break.

XOXO,
Susan
