Hello and happy Monday! This is Susan Hyatt and it’s GO time.
This is the 113th episode in a series of GO mp3s to wake you up on your Monday morning and get you going.
In this episode we’re talking about ONE question that I cannot stop thinking about and how it is changing my business plans for 2018 and beyond.

A few months ago, a woman named Mindy asked me this question. She’s a life coach, like me. Our personalities are very different. She’s like a glass of cool water. I’m like a bushel of hot peppers. She leads retreats on mindfulness and meditation. I lead retreats that include sexy Scottish men in kilts and sometimes… twerking lessons. You get the gist. But we share the same passion, which is helping people to build satisfying, fulfilling, beautiful lives.
We were sitting on the couch at my lake house, discussing Mindy’s business plans for 2018 and beyond, and she shared this question with me: “What is your deepest truth?” It’s a question she asks most of her clients—and the answers can be very surprising.
I can’t stop thinking about this question. It’s simple, yet deep. What is my deepest truth? What do I long for? What do I crave more than anything? What’s shining inside of me, beneath the noise, chatter, and busyness of daily life?
Right now, my deepest truth is that…
– I want to focus my energy. Specifically, I want to focus my energy on helping women and girls to love their bodies. For thousands of years, women have felt unworthy and ashamed. For thousands of years, women have obsessed over their skin, their wrinkles, their stretch marks and curves, and the size of their thighs. E-fucking-nough. The madness must end. All of this body obsession is such a distraction. I want to help women break free. I’m already doing this work through my BARE DAILY community, the BARE deck, and the BARE coach certification program… I want to dig in even more.
– I want to travel a bit less. I’ve done 8 countries and 15 international trips in 3 years and it’s been glorious. But there’s nothing like sleeping in my own bed. Or having a cozy date night with Scott, reading side by side in our favorite chairs. Barcelona is beautiful. Being home is beautiful, too. And pleasure isn’t something that only happens when you’re “away” or “on vacation.” Pleasure can be part of every single day.
– I want to feel a little less tightly-scheduled. I pride myself on being driven, ambitious, and a very hard worker. But I never want to work so hard that I forget to leave room for fun, silliness, and spontaneity. (This is something that’s been coming up for so many of my clients lately. Ladies. We need to get a life!)
What is your deepest truth?
What is inside of you, asking for attention, or asking to be born?
I invite you to sit with these questions… and see if you can find the real answers. Not the polite answers. Not the socially acceptable answers. Not the answers that would delight your family, clients, or colleagues. Not the answers that come from a place of “should,” “must,” or “but it’s my responsibility…” The real answers. The deepest truth.
It’s there inside, if we’re brave enough to listen.
P.S. If you want to start discovering your deepest truth, outside of your body, your weight, and your appearance, check out BARE Daily. Doors will officially open on November 1, but you can sign up to be there first to know right here.
