One year from now, you are going to wish you had started today.

One year from now

… You are going to wish you had spent more time making eye contact with loved ones & strangers, and less time glazing over a screen. More time making memories that can’t fit in your Instagram feed.

… You are going to wish you had woken up earlier, reinventing your morning routine, instead of just thinking about how nice it would be.

… You are going to wish you had gone to the library, like you always said you would, reading books that take you into another world, and some books that carry you home.

… You are going to wish you had started writing that book of your own.

… You are going to wish you had said “No” when your heart knew that it wasn’t a “Yes.”

… You are going to wish you had taken five baby steps towards the career of your dreams, instead of letting your fears hold you back.

… You are going to wish you had bought the sexy bra, not the sensible one.

… You are going to wish you had taken that vacation.

… You are going to wish you had taken that (other) vacation. And that (other) one.

And if you are currently living in a body that’s bigger than you want, carrying more weight that you need…

You are going to wish you had skipped the bootcamp, the fads, the detoxes and the craziness.

You are going to wish you had listened to that quiet inner voice that said: “Diets aren’t the answer. Love is.”

You are going to wish you had found a community to support you on your journey.

You are going to wish you had chosen the slow, gentle and permanent path instead of the fast, temporary and ineffective one.

You’ll wish you had signed up for this.

365 days from today, you are going to be one year older. Thats the unavoidable truth.

Whether your life is the same, different or better? That’s up to you.

It’s never too late to start changing your world for the better.

It’s never too late to choose love over fear.

It’s never too late to say, “I am ready to start treating my life, and my body, with the respect I deserve.”

Never too late to starting creating the life that you crave.

But one year from now?

You are going to wish you had started today.

PS. Keep the conversation going at Facebook.

XOXO,
Susan
